P3: Reasons for choices

Written Communication 3
I picked 3 out of 5 for this section because I am able to to communicate my ideas and thoughts with others through the means of writing whether that be through storytelling of direct communication.

Verbal Communication 2
For this I picked 2 as I can speak to people I know but am not that good at communicating fully my ideas through speech. I also can stutter and get lost when talking to people I do not know as well.

Technical ability 3
I think my technical ability is quite good as I am able to grasp new software quite quickly and am able to understand and use most parts in Maya and Photoshop.

Creativity 4 
For creativity I put a 4 which I believe shows when I have a idea that a feel passionately about I am able to see what needs to be done to make it become a reality and make sure ideas fit into the creative vision for the product.

I see myself in the Artist role first because of many reasons. The main reason being that I take various design and art related units along with giving myself a score that is high in the creativity and production areas.

Producer and game designer is in second because of the of the creativity factor along with having the ability to see if elements of a game fit together. I am also okay at programming and think that I could help if the workload was to high for one person.

Programmer is last because I have some experience with programming but only with low level languages such as lua and python and I think it would be quite hard to learn and program fully in a higher level language.  

M3: Gaps

Verbal

I have a gap with verbal communication when working and communicating with others in a larger group.

Technical

• Learning how to use unity in depth
• Advance Photoshop skills
• Advance Maya 
• Games technical theory

When it comes to technical ability I need to work on game engines, mainly unity as that is what I will be using in our group project.

Creativity

• Working on Art
• Working on adapting ideas
• working on iterating and repeating ideas to perfect them 
• working on inspiration and Idea gathering  

I need to work on adapting and iterating ideas from others into my own form, this is important as finding inspiration from other work is a important part of how new and better ideas are created.

For this I need to work on making sure what I have written makes sense in the context and elaborates on the ideas I am trying to get across.

EXT. FIELD - DAY

LOW ANGLE- CHLOE AD JOE PAST THE CAMERA AT FEET LEVEL

Two people walk past the camera and are described as follows:

JOE SCOTT , Male, 17, he is slightly tall has a backpack on and scruffy hair and clothes are slightly dirty

CHLOE MORRIS, Female, 17, quite short also has a backpack on her hair is relatively tidy and clothes slightly dirty

They walk past the camera you can see the path in the distance that goes beyond the horizon there is silence.

EXT. RAF BASE - DAY

WIDE SHOT - BUILDINGS ARE IN THE DISTANCE

Buildings have smashed windows and broken doors, covered in graffiti and you hear the wind and footsteps in the distance.

INT. HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - DAY

TRACK SHOT- PANS FROM JOHN ACROSS TO JOE IN THE LIVING ROOM

JANE (MUM) SCOTT, 53, female, not in shot.

JOHN SCOTT, 17, Male, Joe Scott's twin he is same height and build has glasses.

Article is on saying about increased solar activity. The sibling is sat on the sofa on the tablet along with Joe on his phone on the sofa opposite. Mum is in the hallway.

MUM(V.O.)

(shouting)

Have you done the dishwasher yet?

JOE

Not yet.

MUM(V.O.)

(shouting)

Well what are you waiting for then? Anyway I'm going to the train station, I'll see you tomorrow.

We hear the sound of the Mum fiddling with keys in the distance.

MID SHOT - OF JOHN ON THE SOFA

John gives Joe a look of distain. Joe gets up reluctantly and walks to the kitchen and goes past a news paper on the way with a page open about the increased solar activity.

INT. HOUSE - KITCHEN - DAY

NEWS REPORTER 28, female short in smart clothes and has a stack of paper in her hand.

ESTABLISHING SHOT - JOE WALKS PAST THE CAMERA INTO THE KITHEN AND STARTS TIDYING UP THE ROOM.

Joe walks into the kitchen and he starts cleaning up the dishes. As he does so a breaking news tune from the TV plays. The news reporter starts talking.

MID SHOT - TV WITH REPORTER IN CENTER

NEWS REPORTER

Reports have come in from all over the globe that a solar wave is heading right for the earth.

Communications interference is expected stay tuned for more information.

JOHN(V.O)

Joe! You might want to see this.

MID SHOT - JOE TIDYING UP

JOE

I'm busy, give me a second!

INT. HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - DAY

ARMY GENERAL,28, male, large guy in army clothes tall and looking at the camera sternly.

CLOSE UP- TV SLIGHTY IN SHOT

The TV switches to a emergency broadcast message. A high ranking officer starts talking. Joe walks back into the

living room You can see him just to the edge of the TV as the shot moves.

ARMY GENERAL

I shall be quick as communications are likely to go down. The reports of solar activity rising are true, the likely hood of a EMP occurring are high all communications are going to be cut off along with utility's. A state of marshal law has been made here in the UK and across the globe. All public gatherings are forbidden. Please--

The TV shows static.

LONG SHOT - JOE AND JOHN CAN BE SEEN.

Joe and the John say nothing. They hear sirens in the distance then a huge bang. The TV turns off, the tablet no longer works and brakes are heard in the distance the sirens stop.

JOE

Was that a power cut?

JOHN

Well my bloody tablets broke so its something else.

MID SHOT - JOE WALKING FRUSTRATINGLY AROUND THE ROOM.

JOE

Surely we should just wait and the police or something will come?

JOHN

Well if the cars are not working then how would they get here, the police station in town has been shut for years.

EXT. COUNTRY ROAD -DAY

LONG SHOT - JOE AND CHLOE WALKING DOWN THE ROAD CAMERAGETS CLOSER GOING TO A MID SHOT.

Joe and Chloe are walking down the dirt road with backpacks on. Joe looks sad.

CHLOE

How much food have we got?

JOE

About a weeks worth, not much water left though...

CHLOE

Alright, not much further now till the next town.

OVER THE SHOLDER - JOE LOOKS AT CHLOE EXHASTED, FROM OVER CHLOSES SHOLDER

JOE

I'm knackered, this road is longer then it looks, can we stop for lunch?

CHLOE

Yeah... alright let's have lunch here.

LONG SHOT - YOU SEE CHLOE AND JOE CLIMB THROUGH THE HOLE IN THE BUSHES.

They walk through a gap in the trees and sit in cover from the sun under a tree.

EXT. FIELD - UNDER A TREE - DAY

MID SHOT - CHLOE AND JOE SIT DOWN TO EAT.

Joe and Chloe look around and put their backpacks down and proceed to get their lunch out.

CHLOE

So about before.

JOE

What about.

CHLOE

You know, what did you do before all of this happened.

JOE

I... I would rather not talk about the past.

CHLOE

Is that because of...

Joe cuts Chloe off. There is a awkward silence.

JOE

What about you?

CHLOE

Not much to be honest I got out of the city quickly before everyone started to get ill and the riots happened.

JOE

Luckier than me, we.. I went into the city...

He stops himself talking. INT. HOUSE - LIVING ROOM FLASHBACK.

CLOSE-UP - OF JOHN ON THE SOFA ZOOMS INTO CLOSER TO HIS FACE.

John is almost emotionless staring into the distance. INT. FIELD - UNDER A TREE - DAY

Joe shudders.

CHLOE

Are you alright?

JOE

Yeah... Yeah, don't worry about it.

CHLOE

Anyway's let's go.

EXT. COUNTRY ROAD - DAY

A long road that bends through the fields and trees on each side that block most of the view. They are surprised by one of Joe's college friends Jamie.

JAMIE ROSE, 17, Male, Tall also has a backpack on as well as glasses, as well as having scruffy hair.

HAND HELD - FROM IN FRONT OF CHLOE AND JOE

CHLOE

So is there anything left...

JOE

Well it doesn't seem it.

CHLOE

Let's walk around, there has to be something left.

JOE

The riots really did a number on this place... Doesn't help that

no-one can get around anymore, only really old cars work from what i've seen.

CHLOE

Yeah that is if you can get past all the cars that broke down in the streets.

JOE

Yeah well at least it means the virus can't spread as easily... Some people are even setting up small farms for villages, it's like we've got back a few eras.

Joe and Chloe Laugh awkwardly.

CHLOE

Hey, at least we've got a chance to have a adventure, try to look on the bright side.

They hear shouting from a distance.

JAMIE

(Shouting)

HEY!

MID SHOT - JOE AND CHLOE LOOKING AT EACH OTHER

Chloe and Joe look at each other and run into the trees hiding from the person in the distance.

CHLOE

(whispering)

Who the hell is that?!

JOE

(whispering)

I dunno maybe he wants help?

CHLOE

(whispering) Just wait a second.

LONG SHOT - JAMIE WALKS PAST AND YOU CAN SEE JOE AND CHLOE IN HE DISTANCE.

Jamie walks past the camera Joe and Chloe get a glance of him. Joe walks out of the bush.

JOE

(shouting)

Jamie, bloody hell you scared me shitless.

JAMIE

Oh my lord, you got out of town as well then what about...

JOE

(Sternly)

Let's... I don't want to talk about it.

JAMIE

Alright

Chloe walks out of the trees

CHLOE

Can someone tell me what is going on?

JOE

This is Jamie, he went to my college.

CHLOE

Oh, alright.

JOE

This is Chloe, we  sort of just met each other going back out of the city.

Jamie stands back

JAMIE

Are you two infected?

JOE

No, No we got out just in time.

Jamie gives a sigh of relief.

CHLOE

I'm guessing by that you're not.

JAMIE

Yeah, yeah i'm safe, do you mind if I join you two? I've got no-one else left at this point.

CHLOE

Sure, why not.

JOE

Have you seen how bad it is in the city?

JAMIE

Yeah, a little bit my family got infected when it first spread caused panic in the safe zone, I just managed to get out before it got put into a lock down.

CHLOE

Lock down?

EXT. FIELD - DAY

They start walking across a field to the base the fields are expansive and go on for miles

MID SHOT - FROM FRONT WHERE THEY ARE WALKING FOLLOWING THEM

JAMIE

Yeah all the roads got blocked off to stop it spreading, the military have a few old tanks and stuff that they are using.

CHLOE

Tanks?

JAMIE

Yeah there were some at a old war museum near here, none of the bases are left though there were not enough officers near them when the EMP hit so they all went to the city under their orders took them a while though, the riots already started by then. That's when I left.

JOE

Oh, did anyone else make it?

No they all died, I was the only one in my family left.

CHLOE

Sorry to hear it.

JOE

We should really get a move on.

EXT. RAF BASE - OUTSIDE BASE - DAY

Chloe, Joe and Jamie walk up to the the base scene fades  to black.
